루씨초는 음악을 전공한 배경을 바탕으로, 소리를 중심에 둔 시각예술 작업을 전개한다. 충동성과 회피성이라는 상반된 기질에서 출발해, 이들이 부딪히는 지점에서 형성되는 경계와 공생의 감각을 탐구한다. 사운드, 영상, 설치를 넘나들며 서로 다른 감각의 접점을 시각화하고, 최근에는 콤부차 스코비를 재료로 발효의 시간성과 생명성을 예술적 구조로 확장하는 작업을 지속하고 있다.
Lucy Cho develops sound-centered visual art based on her background in music. Beginning from opposing tendencies of impulsivity and withdrawal, her practice investigates boundaries and senses of coexistence formed at their points of collision. Working across sound, moving image, and installation, she visualizes intersections between different sensory modalities. Recently, she has been working with kombucha SCOBY as a primary material, expanding fermentation, temporality, and vitality into artistic and spatial structures.
